The verse consists of ten complete Arabic sentences. Someone who recites the verse in the morning would further not be bothered by jinn until the evening, and who recites this verse at the evening will not be bothered by jinn until the morning. It is said ( ḥadīṯ) that reciting this verse wards off shayatin (devils) and ʿafārīt (fiends).
